The Radio Manager ensures the station complies with FCC rules and regulations, as well as UNF and department policies. This person also supervises radio staff and ensures the radio schedule is kept up, oversees promotions and makes sure the schedule and equipment are kept properly.
The Music Director is responsible for what, how much, and when music is played on SpinnakerRadio and is familiar with FCC and SpinnakerRadio content policies. This person reviews music submitted by record labels and discovered online and locally. The music director also submits weekly charts to CMJ.
The Program Director’s responsibilities include working directly with SpinnakerRadio’s volunteer DJs and staff to train them on how to produce live and pre-recorded content. The Program Director manages and maintains the radio schedule and will listen to and critique content produced to ensure FCC regulations are being followed and the content is appropriate to SpinnakerRadio’s format.
The role of the Training Manager is to train DJs on how to perform a successful live or pre-recorded program. The Training Manager also acts as as Assistant Program Director in helping with programming shows, as well as sending out weekly newsletters to DJs and specialty show hosts.
The Content Producer is responsible for regularly covering news, features and sports stories. He or she must write and record stories as well as assist others in the writing, recording and scheduling. The Content Producer works across departments to create ads, promos and any content to be aired on the station.
The Technical Director is responsible for maintaining all hardware and software used by Spinnaker Radio. He or she maintains required FCC event/operational logs and provides emergency coverage in case the signal goes down.
